What Is Type 1 Diabetes?

Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease that millions suffer from. Type 1 is also often referred to as juvenile diabetes, however adults can develop type 1 as well. These effects can become long term complications such as kidney disease, nerve damage, blindness, heart attack, stroke, gum disease, and pregnancy complications.
